    Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Panel Discussion

    As part of the NAIFA Massachusetts Advisor Experience Month, we are pleased to offer a discussion recognizing diversity, equity & inclusion. This program will identify the importance of DEI in our industry and the success of working together.

    These individuals will share:

    • How they got started in the business
    • Obstacles they encountered
    • Importance of promoting diversity, equity & inclusion in the industry

    Meet our panelists:

    Rith Maldonado
    New York Life

    Rith Maldonado, agent with New York Life Insurance since 2014 working with the Boston General Office, top performing office. Coming from 15 years of banking experience and speaking 3 languages (Cambodian, English, and Spanish) has helped me in my career as an advisor. I love culture, volunteering, and the diversity of our agents at New York Life. I got elected for AAC (agent advisory council) in 2019 representing my other fellow agents in NYL and being an advocate. I hope to inspire future multicultural agents in this industry and if you ask me what's my favorite thing to sell, I'd say life insurance.


    Belle Ives
    Northwestern Mutual

    Belle Ives has been an advisor with Northwestern Mutual for 3 years. As just the third female to join her agency, she became a champion for leading by example in the financial services world for other new female advisors as well as her clients- who are primarily women. Additionally, Belle is passionate about leading the agency in the LGBTQ+ community through her diversity and inclusion council role, as well as her role in the #2 college internship program in the country.



    Jethro Kollie

    Beck Bode, LLC

    Jethro Kollie is currently a licensed Financial Advisor at Beck Bode, LLC. In his role he partners with his clients to ensure that they are doing the absolute best they could be doing financially. With 6 years of experience in the industry and over 100 clients, Jethro is well versed in guiding his clients to achieving their financial goals. He has been the recipient of numerous company and industry recognized awards. To name a few, he was awarded the “Most Impactful Person (MIP) award and earned a membership into the exclusive “Million Dollar Round Table” for his willingness and ability to help his coworkers and clients, respectively.

    When he is not creating financial strategies for his clients or working on the different business ventures he has formed; Jethro enjoys volunteering, traveling the world, staying fit, hanging with family and friends, participating in competitive sports such as men's basketball, flag football, etc. Jethro is also very involved in numerous mentorship organizations.

    This session is for insurance and financial advisors who want to learn how to build strong, loyal relationships with clients and their families by supporting them through the difficult times of their lives in ways that make a difference.

    Financial professionals often send the same holiday card to all their clients, wishing them Happy Holidays. But what about those clients for whom the holidays are not so bright? What if they’ve had a death in the family in the past year, or someone they love is currently in the hospital or in hospice? You will alienate those clients if you fail to acknowledge the reality of their lives.

    Discover the unique aspects of holiday time that make it so difficult. Gain skills for communicating when clients are grieving a past or impending loss. Learn how to reach out on the phone, in person, and in your holiday cards in ways that offer true comfort and understanding. Be equipped to do the right thing to do for your clients and their families. They will never forget it.
