Meet this year's awardees:

James DesRocher, LUTCF
iddleton, MA

Jim graduated St. Anselm College where he studied finance and economics.  Jim is the owner of TrueView Financial in Middleton, MA where he lives and works. Prior to starting TrueView Financial, Jim worked at Guardian Life.

Jim is a big part of the community running Middleton's food truck festival to raise money every year for the local food pantry along with serving on local town boards and giving back to the community whenever he can. He has qualified for Guardian's Leaders club every year except 1 since 2011 as well as Centurion Club 4 times (writing more than 100 guardian live lives in 1 year), and Guardian's executive club 2 times, and Guardian's premier Presidents Council in 2019.   In 2019, Jim paid for the most life insurance premium in New England within the Guardian Network.  He has also been a member of MDRT and most recently a court of the table member.  He has been awarded the 5 Star Wealth Manager twice, featured in Boston Magazine, Wall Street Journal, as well as his Company TrueView Financial accredited with the Better Business Bureau. Most importantly Jim's life motto is "making everyone better off for having met me."  

Heidi Quigley

Woburn, MA

Heidi started with Northwestern Mutual in 2013 as a recruiter for 2 years.  She graduated from Southern NH University and started on her journey into the Financial Services world.  In January, 2016, Heidi transitioned into the full time advisor role.  Heidi had a vision to run her own practice and eventually her own firm and decided to take the entrepreneurial track with Northwestern Mutual. She got off to a fast start by achieving Pacesetter first 40 and Second 60 (which is 100 policies sold in your first year).

Heidi is a Growth Development Director (GDD) for Northwestern Mutual.  Heidi is incredibly passionate about developing other successful women advisors in her firm. In the past 2 years, Heidi has attracted and developed 5 other women financial advisors to join Northwestern Mutual. Heidi serves as their mentor and each one has achieved the Pacesetter first 40 Award!  Heidi has also doubled her personal production premium in that time.  

She continually writes over 100 lives, has accomplished Northwestern Mutual’s achievement award, Life Impact award and one of the top new clients producers at our firm. She hosts charity rides with FitRevolution. She has also partnered with many other women owned business owners to host charitable and networking events to bring different industries together. Heidi has done volunteer work in Honduras with the Signs of Love organization, she actively participates with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Childhood Cancer Foundation and has sat on the alumni mentor board at SNHU. Heidi is also very active with Diversity & Inclusion work, she’s sits on Northwestern Mutual's Diversity & Inclusion council and works very closely with the corporate office to make the local office an incredible place for people of all backgrounds to thrive. 

Michael Heberlein, CFP, 
Medford, MA

Michael graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst with a dual degree in Finance & Operations Management and Sport Management. He was also the recipient of the Alumni Association Senior Leadership Award.

A partner at Commonwealth Financial Group since 2014, Michael continues to grow and expand his practice to meet the dynamic needs of his clients and to stay ahead of the everchanging financial planning landscape. Michael's primary focus is assisting clients in achieving their goals by integrating all facets of their financial lives; including retirement planning, investment strategies, risk management, estate planning, and tax mitigation. Michael has established his financial planning practice based on the foundational concepts of financial education and long-term relationship development. It is his goal to understand the dreams, desires, and intricacies of every client’s financial and personal lives; thereby giving him the ability to educate his clients on the vast portfolio of financial planning concepts, strategies, and tools applicable to their unique situation. He measures success by the client’s understanding of a strategy’s potential impact and the confidence with which the client can implement the plan.

Michael has also dedicated a portion of his practice to working with families who have a loved one with a special need. Michael assists families in developing valuable financial strategies and creating strategic financial solutions that integrate with government programs.

Bill Spencer, CFP, AIF, CLTC
Sudbury, MA

Bill has over 14 years of experience as a Financial Advisor. During that time, he has earned his CFP and AIF designations while maintaining his active membership in both the Boston Estate Planning Council and NAIF A where he has often taken part in giving back to our profession by serving as a panelist with other successful advisors sharing best practices. He is a Top of the Table member of MDRT where he has served as the Chair of the Retirement Committee, Finance Committee, and the Advanced Planning Task Force. He is often called upon to speak and present at MDRT panels and breakouts where he is always willing to help peers and share best practices.

Bill and his business partner own Spencer Financial in Sudbury. He and his firm give back to their local community supporting Sudbury for Wounded Warriors, HopeSudbury, Smile Mass, SERF, LS Boosters, Doc Wayne, Habitat for Humanity and many others. He coaches Sudbury Youth Soccer and Lacrosse and has served as an officer for the Sudbury Youth Lacrosse Association.

Bill is a devoted father, husband, successful business owner, and a wonderful friend who is always there for the people in his life. His ability to have such success while also sharing so much of himself is what makes him so truly special. In his free time, he attempts to play golf, always has a book or two in process, and loves Boston sports.
